Do You Know Where You’re Going?

Well, we are off to the ‘I Know Where I’m Going conference on Remote access to World Heritage Sites – from St Kilda to Uluru’.  This conference takes place at the Informatics Forum in Edinburgh from 23-24 November and Museums Galleries Scotland is delighted to be one of nine conference sponsors.  180 participants will be gathering to focus on the potential for new technologies to create high-quality, remote-access visitor experiences to both world heritage sites and other sites of cultural, historical and natural significance.

In the true spirit of allowing remote access there is a live video web stream at for those who can’t make this sold out conference in person.  You can use the chat area to interact with other viewers and pose questions during the Q&A sessions.  Sessions start at 09.30 on Wednesday so tune in for a packed and fascinating programme featuring presentations from literally across the world including a video conference session live from the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in Australia.  You can also keep up via the Twitter chat using #kwig.

In the name of conference research I plan to watch ‘I Know Where I’m Going’, the Powell/Pressburger classic to which the conference title refers, excellent excuse to watch a film which has been on my must see list for ages.
