@CultureFM – the arts, culture and heritage ‘twitter station’

A colleague alerted me to this new project earlier this week, and I wanted to get the word out there to other potential interested parties. @CultureFM is a pilot project from the University of Manchester and various museums, galleries, archives and libraries in Manchester. It’s a “Twitter radio station“, in other words, a Twitter stream which in a previous life would have been a  radio station. Tomorrow, 25 May,  is the first day of broadcasting. There are five shows on the programme, beginning at 10am. I think this is a really interesting experiment and will definitely be tuning in to see how it will work. Each show will have it’s own hashtag, so it should be easy enough to follow one show and the conversation about it.

@CultureFM are looking for both ideas for future shows and people who are interested in being Tweet-jockeys on a show.  Of course, you don’t need to be in Manchester, but can participate from wherever you are if you’d like to be involved. Check out their blog for more information.
