Historic Scotland protects and preserves hundreds of incredible properties across Scotland… But did you know that they also hold an extraordinary range of collections, as well? Take this opportunity to explore their collections at Trinity House, Edinburgh, on 5th March.
Expert-led tours at 15.00, 16.00, 17.00 and 18.00 will allow museums professionals, conservators, students, and anyone who is curious a great opportunity to find out more about the collection at Trinity House and some of the 35,000 objects across the estate.
From the Honours of Scotland to Pictish stone carvings, Historic Scotland’s collection tells the story of Scotland through objects and artefacts linked to our estate. For the first time many of our objects are available to view online at collections.historic-scotland.gov.uk. Historic Scotland are currently embarking on a project to digitise the full collection and welcome the opportunity to tell you more about this project.
To book, simply e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or ring them on 0131 668 8683 to book your space. Numbers are strictly limited, so please book early to secure your place!
We look forward to seeing you there and to joining everyone for a drink and a chat at the pub afterward. We are encouraging those coming along to head to The Roseleaf after the sessions if they would like to have an informal chat: session attendees and Historic Scotland staff will be arriving from the late afternoon onwards, so feel free to stick around to meet a range of colleagues from across the sector!
