The Museums Association is looking for mid-career museum professionals to participate in a new workforce initiative, supported by any accredited museum (or museum working towards accreditation), designed to change the way they work.
Participants will be challenged to develop new ways of thinking, and supported throughout to engage with experimental ideas, fresh thinking and learning from the experience of experts and innovators.
The programme will consist of three interlinked development strands, taking place from July 2014 to March 2015:
• A core development programme, including two residential sessions (14-15 July 2014 and 11-12 September 2014)
• Support from a project coach who will help you get the most out of the programme and help you to identify learning needs
• A personalised programme of development and learning activities.
Candidates are probably already beginning to frame new ideas to change museums, and are ready to challenge assumptions. They understand that change can be difficult, but are up for the challenges this represents.
Places are limited. There is no fee to participate and reasonable travel costs will be supported. Participation in the scheme will be supported using public funding by CyMAL, Arts Council England and Museums Galleries Scotland.
