The National Skills Development Programme is now available on our website. This programme features a wide range of training courses and workshops hosted at MGS at Waverley Gate, Edinburgh.
The next few courses are :
A Way with Words – this one day event delivered by James Carter is for museum staff who need to plan, write or edit display panels, labels, leaflets or guidebooks. The day will be lively and participative with plenty of examples from museum and gallery displays to discuss. A Way with Words, Tuesday 29th April 2014, MGS.
Objects of Admiration – this one day event is also run by James Carter and will look at making collections come alive, consider ways to interpret objects so that visitors appreciate them and are interested in the stories they can tell. Objects of Admiration, Wednesday 28th May 2014,MGS.
We are also running a range of courses including marketing, accreditation, numbering and marking objects, copyright and project management as well as our series of Hints and Tips sessions on investment, collections development, working with volunteers and access. Our courses are informative, fun and provide an opportuntiy to network with delegates as well as staff from MGS.
