Tweet up at the Museums Association Conference

As I’m sure you all know this year’s Museums Association conference  is going to be held in Edinburgh! I’ve been speaking to lots of Scottish museums people and there is much excitement that it’s being held north of the border.

I’m particularly looking forward to this year’s conference as I’ve had the pleasure of sitting on the conference committee to help organise the event. Duties have ranged from reading +100 paper proposals to brainstorming the themes.

For a while we have also been planning a tweet up as part of the social events at the conference. We’ve teamed up with Museum Collections Unit at the University of St Andrews (@musa_standrews) and Museum Association (@museum_news) to host this special event to kick off the conference in style!

Not sure what a tweet up is? No worries, it’s pretty simple. It’s a chance for people who tweet to meet in person, usually in a bar. For this tweet up we’ve picked an unusual venue. The Jekyll & Hyde pub is a creepy sort of pub, think Goth meets Harry Potter (with an Edinburgh twist). If you are interested in coming along, please book a place via Eventbrite:

The tweet up is just one of several social events taking place as part of the conference. So get your dancing shoes ready and let’s make this the best Museums Association conference ever!
