After the flurry of activity in getting the National Strategy launched earlier this year, we’re now offering you the opportunity to feed in to how we deliver its aims and objectives. Although you may be ‘all consulted out’, it’s really important that we get this right. And in order to do that, we need your thoughts.
We have now held the first two roadshow events in a calendar of six across Scotland, to discuss the development of the Delivery Plan for the National Strategy and the future direction of the National Development Body’s services.
These first two events had a great turnout and prompted some lively debate around museums’ shared challenges and priorities enabling participants to discuss the future of the sector together.
Some early emerging themes focused on the sector’s needs, including continued support of museum development through standards and investment opportunities and access to training; the breadth and diversity of the sector; and working collaboratively.
At each event, a number of participants shared their thoughts about the day, the development of the NDB and Delivery Plan and the challenges they face.
The third roadshow is taking place today in Dundee. However, if you’ve missed the boat so far, don’t worry. There are three further events happening in Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow before mid September. To find out more, visit http://www.museumsgalleriesscotland.org.uk/roadshow-events/.
If you can’t attend – you can still feed in by filling in the questionnaire online. We’d love to hear as many of your views as possible.
