I just read an excellent article on the use of QR codes on publicity materials (yes, yes – I know – not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s the marketeer in me!). For those of you that don’t know, they’re those odd, square things that you spy sometimes on posters, leaflets and even cans of coke. The QR code is rising in popularity as a method of driving people to your website who aren’t anywhere near their computer (think waiting in bus station in the pouring rain!). You need a smartphone to scan them, but with smartphones on the increase and the scanning software set to be included as standard on phones in the near future, you may find it useful.
Also there’s a really snazzy thing where you can make them look pretty – they’re far more attractive than a boring old website address. And you can generate them for free! Enjoy!
