Ever wondered how trip organisers decide whether or not to visit a museum or gallery? I’ve just read a couple of research reports which give a little insight from the perspective of visit organisers. Mark flagged them up to me following his attendance at the Annual National Conference of Visitor Attractions. One focuses on Out of School Trips and the other on Group Trips. Both reports look at
- the factors which play a part in the trip organisers choosing where to visit
- the information sources they use to make their decision and prepare for the visit
- the factors which make a visit successful.
There are tips and ideas on how to address points raised. Both reports are by QA Research and are available in the “Downloads” section of their website. They’re very readable so don’t be put off by the words “research report”.
