I attended the Accreditation Advisory panel meeting on Thursday 1 October. The advisory panel has representation from across the sector. I am the representative from Scotland.
The MLA team presented on the consultation work undertaken so far and research conducted by Jura Consulting on the scheme.
The plan is to set up working groups around the emerging themes and dismantle the current standard in order to revise! The first set of working groups will start later this month and there will be Scottish representation on the groups. Details will be sent to the advisory panel shortly.
I presented on QIS and asked the group to consider what it could bring to Accreditation. The group were very positive about QIS’ role as an improvement driver, saw a clear link to accreditation and asked a number of detailed questions. I offered to present again at the next meeting in March. By this time the QIS pilot will be completed and I’ll be able to present more fully fledged proposals.
